SUPERVISOR + TEAM GUIDE
Use Workforce Foundations as an onboarding program
Give new staff a shared foundation, then add the modules and practice that match their role. The goal is not to memorize rules. It is to know how the system works, where authority sits, and where to verify the answer.
Supervisor note. Workforce Foundations is an AI-assisted learning resource, not a certification or substitute for employer training, supervision, current policy, or role-specific authorization. Use it to structure onboarding and identify where local instruction is still needed. Trust standard →
Everyone begins with the eight-lesson Foundations Course.
Add the operating modules most relevant to the job.
Use Decision Challenges and Quickstarts to practice judgment.
Use the skill check and official sources to identify areas where additional learning or source verification may be needed.
A SIMPLE 30-DAY PLAN
A practical first month
Build the mental model
Complete the Foundations Course. Ask the learner to explain the system, the major players, and how policy authority flows.
See the Local Area operate
Assign role-relevant Workforce in Practice modules. Pair them with your own local policies, contracts, and organizational chart.
Practice the work
Use two Decision Challenges and one Quickstart tied to the employee’s actual responsibilities.
Check readiness
Complete the Foundations Skill Check as a learning exercise, review mistakes together, and identify the official sources the employee should bookmark. Do not use the score alone as a competency or authorization decision.
ROLE PATHS
Start together. Then specialize.
Every role should share the Foundations Course. The next assignment should reflect what the person actually does.

SUPERVISOR CHECK-IN
Five questions worth asking
- Can you explain who has authority for this decision?
- Can you identify which funding stream or program is involved?
- Can you distinguish a requirement from a local choice?
- Can you show me where you would verify the answer?
- Can you explain what evidence should be in the file or record?
